Our Testimony to the World.

#14 October 29,2021

Through Solomon we have been given blessings that tell us of the true nature of our Heavenly Father and the wisdom that is His to give. I offer for you today two such blessings. Open your eyes and ears to the instruction and open your heart to that which will steal from us the lethargy that allows slothfulness to guide us and replace it with passion and zeal, which are the ways of God.

Proverbs 12:28 The lip of truth shall be established forever; but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

The world dwells in the muck of ignorance. Without God and His Spirit, this will never change. We promised to labor with God when we chose to make covenant. The labor we seek is a combination of the word of God, the testimony we give, and the integrity that guides our life. All need to align with the purpose of God, or the work of the Kingdom cannot go forward.

Colossians 2:6-10
2:6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him;
2:7 Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power;

In league with the Spirit of God and the people of God, we grow to become a complete depiction of the work of God in the world of man. We create a path free from the stumbling blocks of ignorance and deceit. We make all aware that to follow the ways of God is to feast on the fruit of righteous efforts. Our humility to the Spirit lays claim to the virtue within the instruction He gives. Within those teachings is a path to God that frees us from the need for condemnation or the fear of shame. The truth it brings offers a fullness of joy based on the eternal ways of the Kingdom of God.

Matthew 13:46-47
13:46 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a treasure hid in a field. And when a man hath found a treasure which is hid, he secureth it, and, straightway, for joy thereof, goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
13:47 And again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant-man, seeking goodly pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.

Yes, we will tell them of a place of great value, and it will be truth to them because of the truth within us. Our walk with them is one of steadfast truth, and within that truth, they will discover the compassion offered to them by God, and they will believe.

Mark 4:24-25
4:24 And he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God? Or with what comparison shall we compare it?
4:25 It is like a grain of mustard see, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth; but, when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.

The greatest gift we can offer the world is a place of fellowship and safety, where they will be free from the ills of the world. Their freedom from the bondage of fear becomes a hope that is only as real as the testimony we set before them. Our truth can become their hope.

Proverbs12:28 In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

Jeremiah 17:7-8
17:7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.
17:8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

According to Proverbs 12:28 life within the ways of God is a worthy labor. God tells us through Jeremiah that to live without Him is a life without purpose that will cost us an eternity of joy. To be equal to that labor we chose, we must open our lives to God, His purpose, and His ways. We live because of the words of God, and His words are the source of our redemption and the redemption of the world, but it is ours to bring these words to the world. To accomplish this we need to choose God as our source. Our purpose must be born of Him. Our heart must reach out to Him in a way that is at the same time, both humble and bold. We must be humble to the task and bold in our diligent and steadfast effort. Through His Spirit, we will be given all we need to succeed. Our words and our deeds must be born in a faith founded on our trust in the truth of God. We seek oneness and the solid foundation on which we labor must be oneness with God.

3 Nephi 5:113-115
5:113 The light of the body is the eye, if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
5:114 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
5:115 No man can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one, and love the other: or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other.

Ye can not serve God and the world. Look to God that we might receive instruction that bears His authority. We must humble ourselves to the Holy Ghost that God's instruction might find its way deep into our hearts. Open our minds to this knowledge from within and let the Spirit shine out in the testimonies we give. Live those testimonies and be a living proof of all that God is and all He wants for His children. Let His truth through us guide others away from fear and doubt and seek to bring them to a place of hope, assurance, and joy.

DC 6:1a-1c
6:1a A great and marvelous work is about to come forth unto the children of men:

6:1b behold, I am God, and give heed unto my word, which is quick and powerful, sharper than a two-edged sword, to the dividing asunder of both joints and marrow:
6:1c therefore, give heed unto my words.

This is the truth we have chosen. This is the labor we have been blessed with. Open your hearts to the labor and allow the joy to lift you up.

Praise God for the blessings He has brought us this day, and praise Him more for those yet to come.

    Reads like counsel from the Holy Spirit.
    I have nothing to argue with here. . .except my own slothful spirit.
    Thank you for prompting and pulling.
